The Miriam Learning Center is a program designed for students ages 2 through 23 who require therapeutic, academic, and/or social or emotional support because of difficulties related to speech, language, attention, academics, sensory or motor skills, social communication and other specific challenges.  They may be receiving some special education service or none at all. Approximately 1200 students are served annually.

POSITION:  TESTING SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL

STATUS: FULL TIME WITH BENEFITS

REPORTS TO:  TESTING SUPERVISOR

WORK DAYS AND HOURS: MONDAY-FRIDAY 8:00-4:30 (OCCASIONAL EVENINGS)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited school or a two year related degree with 4 years of administrative experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with good attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
  • Familiarity with basic computer programs including Outlook, Dropbox, Word, Excel, Sharepoint and Google Drive.

REPORTS TO: MLC DIRECTOR

POSITION SUMMARY:

The MLC Testing Support Professional organizes and coordinates all of psychological, psychoeducational, and therapy evaluations completed through the Learning Center. He/she is the primary contact for test scheduling between our community partner schools, parents, and Miriam.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Communicates Learning Center services during phone inquiries.
  2. Responds to testing inquiries and obtains demographic information on children.
  3. Schedules testing dates and times.
  4. Coordinates testing with parents, schools, and testers.
  5. Schedules rooms for testing.
  6. Coordinates and trouble shoots Sharepoint and Dropbox with users.
  7. Orders tests and test protocols.
  8. Obtains testing paperwork.
  9. Formats and copies completed testing reports.
  10. Enters testing scores on the computer.
  11. Obtains financial aid paperwork from applicants and new student paperwork.
  12. Provides support to testers.
  13. Answers telephones.
  14. Helps with summer camp inquiries, ordering of supplies and other clerical functions.
  15. Files or scans student paperwork.
  16. Assists with class enrollment.
  17. Maintains weekly calendars for classroom assignments.
  18. Fills in for evening administrative coverage 3:30-8:00pm during absences.
  19. Performs other duties as assigned by the Administrative Coordinator or Learning Center management staff.
