POSITION:                       Manager, Miriam Switching Post (miriamswitchingpost.org)

REPORTS TO:                 Executive Director, Miriam Foundation

POSITION DESCRIPTION:     

The Switching Post Manager plans, organizes, implements and manages all administrative operations of the store. The Manager develops and oversees the budget and works effectively with Foundation staff, Volunteer Chairman, Assistant Manager, Donations Manager, volunteers, staff, donors, and customers. The Manager must understand and function within the policies adopted by the Miriam Board of Directors and administered by the Executive Director.  

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to recruit, train, manage and coordinate volunteers and staff in a retail setting.            
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Computer savvy; experience with MSWord, database software, email lists and communications, Constant Contact, web updates, social media, internet marketing and online research of upscale and antique merchandise.    
  • Experience in retail /resale operations, management and marketing.
  • Excellent customer service skills and flexibility.
  • Knowledge of antiques and high end merchandise a plus.
  • Volunteer management, team building or non-profit experiences a plus.
  • Available days with some evenings and weekends.
