The Miriam Learning Center (MLC) serves students ages 3 through 25 who struggle due to educational, social or emotional issues.  Miriam Learning Center empowers unique learners by providing them with quality and comprehensive special education supports.  MLC serves over 1100 students each year within their school, at their home, or at the Center. MLC is the largest, private provider of contract special education services for St. Louis charter schools.

POSITION:  BOARD CERTIFIED BEHAVIOR ANALYST (BCBA)

STATUS:  PRN AS NEEDED WITH A MAXIMUM 29 HOURS PER WEEK

HOURS:  FLEXIBLE DAYS AND HOURS (MOSTLY DAYTIME, SOME EVENING HOURS)

PAY:  $50 PER BILLABLE HOUR

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters degree from accredited school
  • Missouri BCBA certification
  • Experience facilitating Functional Behavior Analyses and delivering written reports
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • One year experience as a BCBA, preferably in a school setting
  • Prefer some experience supervising behavior aides

REPORTS TO:  CLINICAL SUPERVISOR

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst provides Functional Behavior Analyses with accompanying reports; develops treatment plans based on results of FBA; and supervises paraprofessionals in the implementation of the FBA; consults with schools to improve student behaviors. He/she interfaces with various schools and families as Miriam's ambassador and behavior specialist.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Facilitates Functional Behavior Analyses with accompanying reports.
  2. Presents FBA information to schools and parents.
  3. Develops treatment plans utilizing results from the FBA.
  4. Oversee the implementation of the FBA by MLC paraprofessionals.
  5. Provides ongoing supervision and oversight to MLC paraprofessionals regarding the day-to-day assignments in partner schools.
  6. Assists in hiring of paraprofessionals as needed.
  7. Maintains contact with community school administration regarding the utilization of MLC paraprofessionals in their schools.
  8. Submits billing in a timely manner.
  9. Refers the child and/or family for community services as needed.
  10. Ensures funding reports are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
  11. Attends community meetings as requested.
  12. Provides behavior training to schools, staff, and the community through seminars.
  13. Any other duties as specified by the supervisor
